Welcome!

The Magnolia String Quartet began its formation in 1988, and came together more formally in 1993, with Christy Lee Gandy, violin,  Lisa McGibney, viola and Erik Pittman, 'cello.  The three met at LSU in the School of Music and played there together many times in a variety of performing roles. They decided to continue their relationship and formed the quartet. The original second violinist moved to points north in 2001 and Danis Salassi joined the Quartet adding her youthful vitality to the group.
